Chronique
The Editorial Board invites contributions that make incisive, topical connections between the nineteenth-century French-speaking world and today. Topics may engage with current events from any angle, on any topic, from anywhere in the world.
The "Chronique" series seeks short essays, to be published approximately two months after the submission deadline. It is expected that contributions to the series will bring scholarly rigor to bear on the present, on world events as they are unfolding.
Essays, in English or French, should be in the range of 1,500–2,500 words, including list of works cited and endnotes. Consistent with journal policy, all text in French or English must appear in the original language, not in translation. Similarly, authors are expected to write in their native language if it is either of these languages.
The series’ two deadlines correspond to the journal’s annual production schedule:
1 August for the fall-winter issue (publication in October)
1 February for the spring-summer issue (publication in May)
Submissions, which should be sent to ncfsarticles@gmail.com, will undergo peer review by the Editorial Board.
